Spiritual Development

Becoming more fully who you are.

What is Spirituality?

Spirituality is a very personal endeavor. It is often contrary to what we were taught by society, yet recognized as profoundly resonant by a genuine part of ourselves. Though we may seek different things on the surface, if we look more closely, we can see that our deepest desires are very similar, maybe even one and the same.

Spirituality is a unique journey for each of us that shows us all the ways we are being held back, held down, and constricted. The journey is challenging. It opens us by testing us. It teaches us through our willingness to keep looking, keep facing, and keep loving.

This work is for those who want to fully participate in life, let go of and heal from the past, and offer the world what matters most to them.

What could you give the world if you were acting solely out of love, wisdom, and joy? Questions like this are foundational aspirations of the spiritual path, stretching and inspiring us to become more fully who we are.

Survival or Creativity

We could look at our moment-to-moment choices, words, and actions through the lens of these two categories: Survival or Creativity.

Survival is perhaps the most commonly accepted way of living in our modern-day world. Most of us were taught that to live we must survive. We think we need to look after and defend ourselves, gain as much security as possible through wealth and ownership, compete with others and win, and protect ourselves at all costs.

But is this mindset how we want to live?

I say it is not. There is another way, a creative way. Love is creative because it is fresh. It is creative because it is fearless. It is creative because it is spontaneous in the present moment. It sees clearly what is and chooses to work with it rather than against it. It connects us with our true wisdom and strength.

Developing our capacity to be with difficulties, challenges, and discomforts allows us to tap into our creative potential. When we can “c” first we stop reacting to life and start creating.

How Mind Works

Learning the fundamentals of how the mind works is essential for living creatively, lovingly, and openly. Until we learn about the workings of the mind we are completely and utterly under its control and we don’t even know it. We are at the mercy of thoughts because we believe they are the truth. We don’t understand that our belief is what gives thoughts power and that repetition makes them stronger. We don’t understand that the past operates automatically within us until we recognize it, question it, and decide to open ourselves to another possibility. One that is new and completely unknown in this moment.

Gaining awareness of the mind, feeling its effect in the body, and practicing how to use thought consciously and purposefully connects us with an innate power and wisdom resting within each of us. We learn to trust ourselves more, act in alignment with intuition, and feel an unconditional support that cannot be explained by conventional wisdom.

What We’ll Do Together

Develop Attention - Mindfulness, slowing down, and concentration—these are foundational skills needed to do anything well, including living a joyful and loving life. If we are unable to give sustained attention to someone, something, or ourselves, then we will not be able to tune in to what’s really needed in the moment.

Grow Awareness - Once we can rest our attention on one thing, then we can give it space, let it be, observe, feel, and learn. This is essential to be able to let things go in the truest sense.

Trust in Honesty - Hiding perpetuates our pain, insecurity, and fear. Our work together can be seen as a corrective relationship: one where we take chances, reveal parts of ourselves we have protected, and experience a different response—a healing response.

Feel - Feeling is a portal into the present moment and contains much more wisdom than we could imagine. We are trained to think and this makes feeling a challenge. Together, we will fine-tune our sensitivity and open our hearts to what our breath and bodies are communicating to us.

Explore Imagination - Powerful, concentrated form of thought. Through intentional visualization practices and allowing different possibilities allows us to experience just how powerful the mind really is.

Commit to Practice - There is no other way to progress in anything than to practice. This is a commitment to yourself and to everyone who has ever and will ever walk this Earth and beyond. We will work together to create, adapt, and nourish your spiritual practices to suit you in this unique moment of your life.

If you’re too focused on the journey, then you won’t know where you’re going.

If you’re too focused on the goal, then you won’t know where you are.
